Last Community Service

Words to Ponder: "True temperance teaches us to dispense entirely with everything hurtful, and to use judiciously that which is healthful... The body should be the servant of the mind, and not the mind to the body."
~ Ethel R. Nelson
Bad thing here was it was our last community service here in Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Center but the good thing here was not only I’ve learned how to clean my surroundings; I’m also done in our NATSER 1 & 2. I really enjoyed and had a good time.

This is kuya Herbs. He's the one in charge for us.

Peculiar feeling

Words to Ponder: The oldest shortest words - "Yes" and "No" - are those which require the most thought.
~ Pythagoras

Just got home from school and had this ‘peculiar feeling’. It was like your heart was shot by an arrow and it pierced severely through your heart. On the other hand, it was like giving your best to a particular subject and yet no one appreciates what you are doing. Did you get my point? Neither do I can’t explain it any longer but one thing is for sure, I don’t want it to linger.

“Those things I have spoken unto you, that in me you might have peace. In the world you shall have tribulation, but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
John 6:33 (K.J.V)

My Zoo Volunteers

Words to Ponder: "The best mirror is a friend's eye."
~ Gaelic Proverb

As far as I know, it is our last month here in ‘Parks and Wildlife’ so I want to cherish and share all the memories we had and will be having. This morning, our job was to put a twig or branch in the cage of the cockatoos.

Ms. Kitty, head of the volunteers, trying to explain what we will be doing.

Promise is a promise

Words to Ponder: "... Beautiful hands are they that do, deeds that are noble good and true; Beautiful feet are they that go, swiftly to lighten another's woe."
~Beautiful, Mc Guffey's Second Reader
William J. Bennett, The Book of Virtues

I was supposed to meet Kathy, my former schoolmate, last Wednesday but I was doing a one week fasting and I also attended some burial. So I promised her that we’re gonna meet today and that’s what happened. We met around 12:30 and then we went to Glorietta to have some lunch.

On our way to Greenbelt...

I bought some batteries for my dig. cam.

Lunch in Goldilocks...

Had some conversation and one thing I can't forget is when she told me, "H'wag mo kasi seryosohin lahat ng bagay... just enjoy..."

We then went to our Alma Mater...

I missed this hallway. A lot of memories =( I'm gonna be here next Wednesday 'cause its their intams.

Life is too short...

Words to Ponder: "Obedience is better than sacrifice."

Just got home from Loyola Memorial Chapel in Edsa because we visited the burial of ate Val’s cousin. Breast cancer was the cause of her death at the age of 34. That’s way too early! Truly, life is very short. I mean, when God wants to take your life you can’t do anything. What if at the age of 25 you’re already dead and God will ask you, “My son/daughter, how did you spend your borrowed life on earth?” My point is productive enough to use your life. Remember, we only have a one chance to live here on earth, why not use it for God.

1st day of class

Words to Ponder: "Our manners show others what we think of them. They also show others what they should think of us."
~ Fred Hartley and Family, The Teenage Book of Manners
Yup! Today is the first day of our class in 3rd term. I’m so excited to meet my old and new classmates. Everything went well and I thank God for that. The excitement that I felt was indescribable. I believe that God will be doing something great this term as in GREAT!!! I’m so excited and I just can’t hide it!!!

One meal per day!

Words to Ponder: "The best mirror is a friend's eye."
~ Gaelic Proverb
I’m so happy of what happened this morning in the church. After the 1st service, our head pastor approached me and told me that he was blessed last Sunday when I lead the service. I can’t explain the feeling! Even the people whom I don’t know approached me and expressed their reactions. When they said, “You sing well!” I only said, “To God be ALL the glory!”

My sister and my mom after the service...

Why ‘one meal per day only!’? Here’s the real story. Yesterday Micah went in our house to borrow the Little Prince book. I even gave her the summary of the book to help her. We then went to McDo to eat but I wasn’t satisfied. I’m in a fasting for 7 days and I only got one meal per day. Good thing, Micah has been fasting since last night.

Good thing I didn't erase it...

Nice uniform...

Be sure to wash your hands before eating...

Forever Friends...

Words to Ponder: "So long as we love we serve. No man is useless while he is a friend."
~ Robert Louis Stevenson
Friendship is a precious gift that must be cherished and nurtured. A true and strong friendship is founded on trust, protected by loyalty, and maintained by communication. Friends set aside time for one another, keep each other’s secrets, and stand by one another in good and bad times.

What is a Friend?

On our way to Greenbelt...

A chair when I’m weary
A smile when I’m sad
A drink when I’m thirsty
A switch when I’m bad
A safe for my treasures
A map on the road
A shoulder to carry
The half of my load.

At last, we meet again. It’s been quite long time since our last ‘get together party’. We decide to meet because we missed each other and we want to share what happened for the past years, about ‘LOVE LIFE’, etc.

Eating breakfast @ McDo.

A lamp in my darkness
A lock on my door
A rose in my thorn bush
A rug on my floor
A hug when I’m hurting
A fire in the cold
A jewel more precious
than diamonds and gold.

We then watched the movie 'Sigaw' @ G4. Unfortunately, manong guard saw my cam so this is the only photo I got.
A shade in the noontime
A gate in the wall
A song in the evening
A ride to the ball
A call when I’m lonely
A cheer when I win
A home that is waiting
To welcome me in.

Going back to Greenbelt to buy my school supplies.

We then went to Robinsons, Ermita to buy 'friendship bracelet' @ Blue Magic.

A picture that somehow
Resembles your face
A manner that makes me
Remember your ways
A touch that, compared with
Your touch, feels the same
A voice that responds to
the sound of your name.

Time to go home...

A person who truly loves his friends rebukes them when they are heading the wrong way. He neither condemns nor tolerates the wayward ones, but seeks to guide them back to the right path. A true friend is even more of an encourager. He praises more often than he criticizes. His rebuke saves his friends from disaster, while his encouragement helps them to become the KIND OF PERSON God intends them TO BE.

So blessed, I can't contain it...

Words to Ponder: "Love is an activity, not a passive effect; it is a 'standing in', not a 'falling for'. Love is primarily giving, not receiving.

~ Erich Fromm

Just got home from church and I can’t wait to share these blessings. I’m really blessed and touched for what God is doing in my life and also in my surroundings!!! There are two major blessings which I received these first two days of the year.

First Blessing:

I was the one who led the praise and worship services this Sunday. Yup! I’m a worship leader! Even I, hitherto, can’t believe that I was the one who led the service. My uncle was also blessed when he heard the news and last night, direct from London, he called me up and express how he and my auntie are blessed. My auntie gave me some advice in leading the service because she was once a worship leader. The service went well (base from the feedbacks) and I’m so blessed when I found out that I encouraged the youth to serve God. Before I put myself in the spotlight, I said these to God, “Lord it is an honor to serve you and to usher the congregation into your kingdom! I’ll give my best for You!”

Preparing myself for the service at 6:00 A.M.

Second Blessing:

We celebrated our new year with our relatives on my mother side. I’m so blessed to have a family and relatives who really honor and faithfully serve God. Here’s the picture. I’m sure everyone was busy preparing foods, etc. before New Year’s Eve. Yup! Even I was busy. I helped my grandmother in preparing foods and then prepared the ‘dancing fire crackers’ a.k.a. ‘watusi’. That’s the only firecracker we had aside from ‘lusis’. Har! Har! Har! Going back, when the clock stroke 11:55, my auntie and my mom called us up in the living room and distributed the bibles. When it was 12, we opened the bible to Deuteronomy 28 and declared the word of God. After the word, I immediately played Hillsong music, specifically the song ‘One Day’. We then went to the vacant lot to watch my ‘watusi’ and also to eat.
